How to connect Google Analytics 4

Bring visitors, sessions, engagement, traffic sources and visits from AI assistants into seops.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measures who visits your site: how many, from where, which pages, for how long. seops reads aggregated reports only; it never sees user-level data and cannot change your Analytics settings.

What opens in seops

  • 4 · Tracking › Traffic: users, sessions, engagement, channels, landing pages
  • Traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and other assistants as its own line
  • Navigation: the path visitors take from page to page
  • Session data feeds the importance score in Indexing › Google index

Steps

  1. Open Analytics

If GA4 is already installed on the site, skip to step 3.

  2. Create a property and add it to the site

Bottom left Admin (gear) → Create → Property. Name it, pick the time zone, Next. Platform Web, enter the site address, Create stream. Add the Measurement ID (G-XXXX) to your site. On Cloudflare the no-code way is Zaraz → Google Analytics 4.

  3. Give seops's service account access

Admin → Property access management → + → Add users. Paste the service account email shown in the GA4 step of the setup wizard and under the GA4 field in Settings › Project settings › General. Role: Viewer. Add.

  4. Pick the property in seops

In seops open Settings › Project settings › General and enter the numeric property ID (for example 512345678) in the Google Analytics 4 property ID field. Save.

  5. Check

Open 4 · Tracking › Traffic in seops. On a fresh property the first data shows within a few hours.

How to use it in seops

  • 4 · Tracking › Traffic › General: channel and period, comparison as a grey line
  • 4 · Tracking › Traffic › Navigation: pick a page and see where visitors came from and went next
  • Exclude admin pages you don't want in reports
